Covid19 Rations for Resource-Poor Women in Dehradun

Help us support 200 daily wagers and their families in the resource poor and low income areas of Deep Nagar and Badripur in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, as they struggle to meet their basic needs due to no work during the Covid19 lockdown. The Dehradun relief will be facilitated by friends and volunteers who have worked in this area and the all-India support will go through the Kriti team members, volunteers and friends.

With the national lockdown extended until 17th May 2020 and a crisis of daily and salaried earnings that will last beyond, we are now raising Rs. 1500/- per family, per month for April, May and June 2020 (i.e. a total of Rs.4500/- per family)

Your donations are being used to buy dry rations to marginalised families in this area where women / men/ youth work as unorganised, sectors workers including construction workers, domestic workers, painters, plumbers, electricians and other daily wagers. The give-outs are being facilitated through local kirana stores, kriti team members, local volunteers and friends.

This per month, ration package will include 10 kg aata (flour), 10 kg rice, 2 kg dal (lentils), 500 gms Sooji, 400 gms milk powder, 1 packet salt, 2 kg sugar, 500 grams tea, 2 litre oil, 100 gms Dhania, 100 gms Haldi, 2 soaps and 250 gms Surf. For those who need some other ration or item, we will try to substitute or add if funds permit. Mobile recharge support is another one we are looking at supporting as that is one enabler in lockdown times for everyone.
