Oregano goes well with tomato or white sauce based dishes and can be added to pasta, dals, curries and salads. It also can be added to bread and roti dough to add a subtle flavour. Oregano has tonic and digestive properties. Tea brewed with oregano leaves is used to treat cough, sore throat, indigestion and gastric upset. Oregano leaves can be chewed for their antiseptic properties in case of a toothache.
